Welcome To Camp Faithful

Camp Faithful, the affectionate name given to the campground and ministry of the Connecticut Advent Christian Campmeeting Association, Inc. We are a 24-acre refuge located in a small wooded area in the north end of Southington in the midst of the concrete and asphalt jungle of central Connecticut. We are not a church, but we are part of the Church.

Therefore, the commands and responsibilities given to the church by Our Lord bind us. Pre-eminent among these is the Great Commission, which has become an essential element of our founding documents, giving direction to the Association. The purpose of the campgrounds, as found in the By-laws of the Association, is to provide a common place of study and inspiration, apart from the busy activities of life, for Advent Christian people and other Christian groups. Since we are not a church, we must be more imaginative and creative in the choices made regarding ministry styles with our main focus on the traditional program borne by our name, campmeeting.

Since the guidance and direction given by the Lord in His word is clear, we need to examine and evaluate our ministry to test ourselves on whether we are being obedient and effective in fulfilling our responsibilities and in the stewardship of the resources granted us.

We are one organization, but we are many things to the people to come here. We are a residential community with privately owned summer cottages and a limited number of year-round residents. We are a recreational area with a softball field, basketball and volleyball courts, and picnic area and in ground swimming pool. We are a youth ministry center with youth cabins, dining hall, nurses' station, and youth chapel. We are also a worship center with a 450-seat sanctuary, a 150-seat tabernacle, and a 2-story nursery. We also have a number of Association cottages and a rooming house with various levels of facilities that can be used for vacations, retreats, and ministry-support staff housing, etc. This mixture of adult and youth camp facilities makes for an interesting and restful place for ministry, solace and enjoyment.

Our season extends from mid-May to mid-October. Our own ministry consists of a workweek in May, Spring and Fall Rallies, in June and September and especially a weeklong campmeeting at the end of July. Our youth ministry consists of Spring and Fall Youth Retreats and two week long youth camps for Junior and Senior High age youth in July. During the remaining open dates, the facilities are made available to other evangelical Christian churches and groups to provide their own campmeetings, youth camps, and retreats, as desired. Days and weeks are available for use for any number of types of ministry including preaching, teaching, music, sports, and fellowship, etc.

Our intentions are quite clear as found in our Mission Statement:
To faithfully administer the resources granted us by our Creator and bring glory to God. To declare the good news of salvation in Jesus Christ, Our Lord, with special focus on reaching out to the youth of our generation. To endeavor to maintain a Spirit-filled atmosphere of peace, love, and comfort, where all Christians can be renewed and revitalized.

Information and reservations can be requested at any time through the Executive Committee of the Association by mail at 891 Queen Street, Box 3, Southington, CT 06489.
